WARNING: I am not an Otaku. Before this, my anime knowledge came down to five episodes of ranma, 4 episodes of Noir, a few episodes of Amazing Nurse Nanako and Galaxy Express 999. So, if I get any facts wrong, sorry. Also, most of the pictures I took didn't turn out very well. The pictures on this page are all the best ones, you can view all the pictures (without explainations) here.

FRIDAY

This is Travis in the car on the way to Toronto. There isn't much to say about this, except for the fact that most of my pictures have travis in them.

This is one of the only pictures of me. Travis took it right after we got to his grandma's house. As you can see, I'm wearing my favorite hoodie.

This is the only picture actually inside the convention on friday. It's kinda bad. Frankly, we weren't there for long enough to see any really good cosplayers, so I didn't take any pictures.

This is Travis in bus shelter as we left. It poured rain on friday, and we were soaked. It kinda sucked, but it is interesting to note that as I took this picture I was eating Pocky. I am now addicted to Pocky.

SATURDAY

Picture #2 of me. We were on the way to the bus stop.

After looking for Michael (d`Jeu) for all of Friday, he finally showed up in the DDR room on saturday. Here's a picture of him, kind of. My picture skills suck. He was cosplaying as someone from Gravity.

Another one of Michael (in red/black), with Travis in the foreground.

THIS IS THE BEST COSTUME OF THE CONVENTION. Seriously. This dude rocked.

This is me blinding myself outside of the Video Gaming room. I wanted to be an idiot, and I was. I also have another picture of Michael and Travis here. Oh, look, here's another one.

Travis giving the camera a thumbs-up. I honestly forget why I took this.

Here's another picture of cosplayers. These were good costumes, IMO. I think they were dressed as the FFX-2 cast, but I'm not sure.

Another good one, this time of a moogle. I didn't know what to call the dude when asking if I could take his picture, so I called him Mr. Moogle. Heh.

This one (and the other one I took here) was taken during the Q&A session with the gundam wing cast (and Saffron Henderson). I called this Q&A session Fangirl Hour, as for the whole hour almost every question started with "I have a request" and included such fun lines like "Can you do Vegeta and Maijin Buu fighting," "Can you do Vegeta singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to Gohan" and "Can you come home with me, Scott?" One girl started crying after she asked the cast to sign her autograph book. Lightened, original here.

[edit] I forgot to mention the really annoying nerd dude who flipped out at everyone who wasn't sitting during this part. He was dressed as a klingon (I think he had the wrong convention) and he would yell at everyone who stood at the door for more than three milliseconds. And by yell, I don't mean quietly ask them to take seats, I mean he would flail his arms around and make it seem like what they're doing is a felony. I was really close to standing up and punching the dude in the gut because he bugged me so much.

Here's another good bunch of costumes. Squall, Seifer, and that black dude from FF8 (I forget who it was, I don't remember much of FF8.) [Edit: Apparantly the black dude was trying to due Raijin, not Kiros. Thanks, squirl]

Here's one of two people doing DDR. One of them got really close to beating Legend of Max later on.

This is a picture from the masquerade. We weren't allowed flashes, so the pics sucked. pic20-24 are the masquerade photos, the above picture was of someone dressed as "Yaoi Pocky" (to which Travis replied "Why is the yaoi pocky brown?"). Also, we saw a 300-pound "Super" Sailor Mars. ("Super sailor mars? More like Supersized!")

SUNDAY

Here's Travis at the back and at the front of the line to get autographs from (most of) the gundam cast. We were in line for 1 hour and 40 minutes, and we were almost at the cutoff point for autographs.

Here's one of my favorite pictures, even though the circumstances behind it were odd. This is Brian Drummond, aka Vegeta from DBZ. He practically forced me to take his picture, it was awesome. Our conversation:

Brian: Ahh, I'm seeing spots. *sees camera* If you want to take a picture, though, feel free.
Me: *not really wanting one* Nah, it's ok.
Brian: I'm serious, it'd be fine if you wanted to take one.
Me: It's ok, I wouldn't want to blind you or anything.
Brian: No, by all means take one if you want to.
Me: .............Fine.

Brian Drummond is cool. I'm glad I got that picture.

Here's Travis and Scott McNeil, who does about four characters on Beast Wars. Scott was a very funny person. He couldn't pronounce "Felt Tip Marker", and he screwed up about four times. It was awesome. He didn't force me to take his picture, though, so he isn't as cool as Brian Drummond. I lightened this one, see the original here.

Here's the last cosplay picture I have. This dude dressed as Crono, and it was a good costume. I saw someone else in a good Crono costume, but he didn't have the hair so it really ruined it. I lightened the picture because it was so dark, you can see the original here.

Travis leaving the convention. This is the last convention pic, pic31 is just one of Travis and his friends Ian and Trevor.

So that's it! Thanks for viewing my uber fun convention report. I'm definetely going next year, and Travis has convinced me to cosplay as Irvine from FF8. Damn. I'm a bit disapointed, though. I didn't see anyone doing really bad cosplay, like Pikachu or a 400-pound-man doing Sailor Moon. Oh well.
